Genre1 Instagram post

I wrote a newspaper article and an Instagram story because these two different types of genres will target different audiences or readers. I am more familiar with social media, and I watch social media more than other news. For the Instagram story, most of my audience should be young people and people that are interested in global warming. It is because most young people will have Instagram which is a way to socialize. So, attracting the right audience is important. I think it is suitable to let young people get some knowledge of global warming. The purpose of this social media post is to let people understand the current situation on earth. The tone of this article should be concise and strong, which will make people pay more attention to global warming. Global warming is a very serious issue. People should protect the earth, protect their homes, and protect their living environment. If you wait until there is no room for recovery, then it will be too late for people to want to change. I made a picture of this post that explains well the causes, effects, and solutions of global warming. It is like a poster that has all the details in pictures form. This can help the audience to understand what I want to express more easily. Also, some people might not want to read the hall article which this post is the best way to explain to them about global warming. So, it will affect everybody and the entire earth’s ecological environment.

For the newspaper, my audience should be people who often read newspapers or follow the news, and this type of person is generally older. The audience strategy that I used is to use exaggerated titles, show them the severity of the problem, and write quality content. In fact, everyone may have heard of global warming, but they may not know the seriousness of this matter. I made the stylistic choices in my visuals based upon my audience by pointing out my purpose, informing the in-depth information, Show costs, list out the cause and effect, and list the solutions. Also, there are pictures in the post and newspaper to show how the earth is going to look like if global warming continues and what will happen. Newspapers are not just providers of information, they organize the world in a coordinated way every day. In addition, the newspaper can be read at any time, there’s no limit time, and it will not cause people to miss the information if you miss the specified time like a TV program. The message I’m trying to get across to my audience is to inform people to have a sense of danger to global warming. My stance is the attitude that has towards the current situation of global warming and the solution. If everyone can make a change, it will be a great improvement in global warming. So, this is why I choose these two genres which the stylistic choices and the designing make sense in the context of this audience and this purpose.

Reflection for Both Genres

I think the Composition in Two Genres is very interesting this time because it is open-ended and there are many genres for people to choose from. At first, I thought we needed to write a very long article again, which was similar to before, but I didn’t need to write it around other people’s articles. Then, I found that there are many options for this mission. I really enjoyed writing and doing this assignment because we can make YouTube videos, Instagram stories, newspapers, or short stories. I think this is very new and I haven’t tried this type of work before. I chose to make Instagram a post and a newspaper. It is because these two genres are the most common news methods that people are exposed to now. And I think these two kinds of shapes are very helpful to the promotion of my topic. It clearly explains the current situation on the earth and the cause and effect of global warming. The biggest problem that people should think about is what will happen if global warming continues? I learned a lot from this process because I learned a lot about the current status of global warming and its severity. Global warming should get everyone’s attention because it will threaten the living environment of humans and even all species. If I had to do it again, I would do differently by choosing other genres because I want to try new things. This homework is not very difficult for me, and actually, I think it is fun to do.
